About This Painting
“Cincinnati Nature Center” is one of the most meaningful works I’ve ever done... Growing up, my family took many outings to visit CNC. We played in the creeks and picked up walking sticks...all the while Mom would name plants she knew... How many 7 year olds know what bloodroot is? And I’m raising my children the same way...to be connected with nature.
The painting itself, from inception to completion took about 2 years to complete. In that time, many trips were made to CNC to make study sketches, take photographs, and just immerse myself in nature, soak it in, and take it back to my studio to work. Never has a painting brought me this much reward from feeling fellowship with my audience... and that’s who I’m painting for ...my customers.
“Cincinnati Nature Center” was commissioned by CNC in celebration of their 50th anniversary.
